Tasting Notes from Drizly:
"Nouveau is made with carbonic maceration, or whole-berry fermentation. This technique preserves the fresh, fruity quality of the grapes without extracting bitter tannins from the grape skins. Beaujolais Nouveau is a cherry-red, fruity, tasty, clean wine that is best served chilled."

Wine Folly Notes - p. 113
  • Pomegranate, blackberry bramble, violet, potting soil, banana
  • Fruity, floral, and sometimes earthy
  • Light body, sweetness, and alcohol
  • Very low tannins
  • High acidity
My Review:

This Beaujolais had intense aromas of a multitude of sweet fruits, with strawberry and banana among them. The fruitiness continued into the taste, which was refreshing without being sweet. It was fairly dry with a medium body and medium acidity. The strawberry flavor pervaded the wine from smell to aftertaste and provided a basis for the larger fruity blend that contributed throughout. I drink this wine slightly chilled at the recommendation of online tasting notes, which turned out to be a good idea. I think the cooling really brought out the fruit flavors to complement the dryness. This fruity red was a well-balanced and enjoyable experience.
