Tasting Notes from Kysela Pere Et Fils:

"On the nose, this Shiraz displays rich, ripe plum and berry fruit characters which is complemented by subtle spice and oak character. On the palate, further notes of berries and spice are present with soft round tannins which provides a mouth filling richness to the wine."

My Review:

The aroma of this wine was very sweet, mostly having a plum smell with some cherry influences. The taste of this wine was initially sweet and pleasant, echoing the smell of plum and cherry. The aftertaste was woody, and complemented the medium to low dryness and mild tannins of the wine. Taking a "big gulp" of this wine allowed the fruit flavors to pervade the whole experience, even the aftertaste. I had a few sips of this wine after my initial tasting after having some spaghetti for dinner, and with the marinara muting the fruit flavors I was able to taste a pronounced chocolate flavor. I tasted this wine along with the zinfandel in my previous post, and since this wine was a lot less complex it was a bit overshadowed. Nonetheless, this was a very pleasant, sweet-tasting, fruity red that I quite enjoyed.
